So again with the same-sex marriage bill passing in NY.

I’m really happy that it passed but the fact that it just barely did makes it less sweet.

The vote was 33-29. A 4 vote difference- even ’barely’ sounds like an understatement. It’s really sad how almost 50% of the people are still so unmoved and continues to hold on to such ignorant and discriminating views.

But I guess progress is progress. 33-29 in comparison to 24-38 last year. 9 is a good start. Besides, being the 6th state out of 50 isn’t ‘bad’.
